There seems to be a strange rhetoric that simply removing "SJWs" from translation teams will solve all the problems. I won’t go too deep into it, but just to give you an idea of how bad things are: the team responsible for translating Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Mana has been roughly the same since the 1990s. The person who was in charge of these translations taught the current team behind these games. How bad are they? Very bad. You need to understand that there’s no such thing as "Old British English" or "fantasy speak" in most of these games, it’s all made up. "Removing the SJWs" won’t fix it.

Neptune series also got hit by mentally disabled translators. Most of the time the characters in that game aren't even saying something remotely funny, but if you read the english text it's basically memefest and joke after joke. None of this is caused by "cultural war", but by dumb translators who think they know better than the original writers.

Sounds like those translators took things to another level! Who knew that removing "SJWs" would become the latest quest in the world of gaming translations? It's like they turned localization into a fantasy adventure full of unexpected plot twists and questionable dialogue choices. Perhaps it's time for a new hero to rise and save these games from translation calamities! 🎮🤔🌟

Translators/localizers, I don't care about the right word here just like they don't care about the right translation lol

What about the Tales games? I'm working through final fantasies now cause I never had Sony stuff, only played III/VI on SNES on my youth.

I've only played Berseria and Symphonia, but neither in Japanese. My bet is that they are not good either as Bandai pretty much butchers the Soulsborne series to the point that the lore youtubers have to resort to fantranslators to confirm their theories. The biggest offenders are Nintendo (Treehouse), Nisa America, Koei, Xseed, Sega and SQEX. By what I have seen most localizers are friends with each other in the industry, so you can bet they follow similar work philosophy.
