My wife and I got a quote on a small fence for the backyard in 2019:

We didn't move forward with the project at that time.
We just got a repeat quote from the same company:
13,000 USD.
I'm not a mathematician, but inflation seems to be higher than 3%
Lumber went through the roof during the pandemic, for one thing, plus Trump put tariffs on Canadian lumber.
