I once bricked a bios chip and had to order a new one. That was 20 years ago and no problem at all but the lesson was learned.
I recently saved a chip with a ch341a programmer.
You can get them very cheap on ebay or amazon.
Great peace of mind to know you can always reset to a fresh bios installation 😌
There's always a way, unless pins break off. Then you just try to sell the part and add "defect? I don't know what's wrong, it's not booting anymore" to the description and hope someone buys it who thinks he's outsmarting you
