#fountain update changed everything and not for the good. clipping causes more crashes than ever. almost unusable feature now. notifications appears to be stuck.
#smij is not recommending fountain anymore.

What is clipping? I noticed I can't use this app anymore because it cuts out pauses. The voice of all people is like a machine voice now.
fountain allows you to clip a podcast episode into a short clip that can be shared, etc.
it's still pretty buggy, though.
Ok. I find this audio trimming really bad. It seems one can't switch it off. It cuts out all meaningful pauses and renders the audio sound like machines are talking to each other.
we're talking about 2 different things. the audio trimming is bring done intentionally by fountain. to shorten podcasts. clipping is done by the user to save parts of an episode to share. this works for creators to share multiple shorts from an episode and listeners to share segments as opposed to a whole show.
i agree, the trimming can be annoying, especially since I listen to most things at 1.5 or 2x
