I've looked into learning masonry a little bit in the US and it seems like the whole industry operates under the assumption that you will only use it for making pretty facades. I hate facades. Architecturally, I believe in structural elements being displayed.

Basically I wanna build castles.

Could be an excuse to go to the UK. But.... Would I make it back out unmolested by their totalitarian state or their woke mob? Kinda scared of the UK

yeah, i also was glad to be out after spending a year in Cambridge in 2023

but having said that, the more sparse regions of england and scotland, and most of wales are not so bad
