This guys story is a sad one. If BTC existed back then I believe we would not have had the unabomber. Non-violent protest & anarchism > murder.
Is anybody struck by the irony that a man who targeted people who contributed to the advancement of technology because of his concern for that technologyās destructive potential for the future of humanityā¦.has died at the beginning of the AI revolution which we may or may not be able to control?
Yes. And the thing is a lot of people are too āreasonableā to understand he was right.

I think thatās just how human are.
People are too distracted by his actions to be willing to consider his motivations. Itās understandable, but such blindness keeps people from understanding the motivations of some important historical figures. Killing people is unethical by every standard and immoral by most. But bad actions are not necessarily irrational. The man wrote about his motivations. His manifesto is worth a read.
Most people think itās unethical and crazy thing to do, because they donāt see the consequences of not doing so. Sometimes you have to pay very big prices to avoid very bad outcomes. If one canāt see the outcome, he canāt understand the cost.
I donāt think what he did was right, I still cannot fully agree with his method. And itās not up to me to judge whether it was right. But I absolutely think he had such a through understanding of social psychology, political identity, and technologyās effect on human as a whole.

Why the š over his death? He lived to old age, unlike his victims. Justice is finally served.
I consider he himself as a victim too. I donāt agree with his actions but I absolutely agree with many of his ideas. That manifesto is so ahead of time. Extremely deliberate, logical, and concise. He was right on many things.
I have heard he was a victim of MK Ultra, i.e., the U.S. government. Thus, the U.S. government victimized America through Ted Kaczynski. And then made US pay for his lengthy incarceration.
