Hi @newscientist - we're sorry that your journalist Matthew Sparkes ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewsparkes/ ) has chosen to block a number of us from the #Bitcoin academic and environmentalist community who were engaging in good faith with him in response to a recent article.

He is of course fully entitled to do so, but at the same time we feel it is important that the cutting edge research and less-well known aspects of the #Bitcoin mining industry's potential to mitigate and reduce some of the harmful effects of climate change are not overlooked.

Some of these matters are summarised in the post immediately below. In the thread, I will share links to some of the research that we wished to share with Matthew, should he ever wish to write a follow up to his piece
