Where is the line between normie and basic? This is a question bitcoin has asked me lately. Basic in my opinion means that the person is so trapped in consumerism that they always think the cheapest thing is the best thing. People who shop at Wal-Mart religiously. People so stuck on their emotions they don’t even feel good enough for mid curve normies. To be middle class you need at least 70k a year, And “normieism” is built around how well you uphold the status quo. The Caveat to this, Is now that Bitcoin is mainstream, Ascending past normieism is going to be about how well you make normies jealous because of your superior financial intellect, While embracing the absurd gracefully enough that it is attractive to upper class people. Wealthy individuals are all unique and beautiful in their own ways, As well as dysfunctional and fucked up in their own ways. Normies are too afraid of offending each other because any negativity just turns into ammo to be outcast from normie society, And basic people just pretty much get too emotional about how jealous they are to even think. I have seen some pretty basic bitcoiners out there. I thought when I entered the bitcoin world that it would probably be something that made basic people more interesting and willing to be alternative, But there are only a few ways bitcoin really affects the street level individual. Bitcoin pretty much tears down the immediate trust that most lower middle class people feel with each other. Anyone making 35,000$ a year or less usually assumes other cheap people are probably their friends. Normies think this way as well but the friendship aspect extends to popular culture. If those people are popular then we must be just like each other. It’s when people become brave enough to engage in civil conflict that things get interesting, But nobody makes it past normie without learning to surf the pop culture waves of consumerism bullshit. The basic people at the bottom are too self conscious and berated by cheap products to ever escape being basic. Kind of what I imagine being a working person in China might feel like. Permanently stuck In indentured servitude with a CCP ceiling you never speak truth to because it will collapse on you.
Schrödinger’s Normie.
This is finally the other stuff we were promised 🙏🙏
