We actually invented WiFi over Coax (WOC) for the Beijing Olympics in 2008, it was a Chinese company called Cytech.

Why not invent WiFi over spaghetti? Keep innovating!

We only got WiFi working on Linguini, Spaghetti was always a distant dream.

Yeah you’ll never get linguine through walls that thick.

True 😞

I helped Oxford IT manage their Macs (there were a lot of them) in the late 2000’s. They had horror stories of trying to run Ethernet through 600 year old walls (probably older).

Yeh, that is the problem.

Wow that’s cool. Is it the same? MoCA boxes just turn coax into Ethernet basically. You’d put an AP on the far end.

It was specifically for hotels, they were all wired with TV coax so retro fitting a viable Internet feed directly into each room made Coax compelling.

We replaced the TV aerial socket with a dual output, TV out and a WiFi aerial, with a splitter and filter fitted inside the faceplate with a complimentary mixer and filter down the hall feeding up to 8 rooms with a single signal.
