Meh, Boomers are bad, but the previous generations that brought two world wars and central banks all over the world were worse.
Discussion
Yep
Can't be compared, really.
Any book recommendations on the topic?
Anyone gone down the Meyer Lansky rabbit hole? It's peaked my interest recently.

It's always been the controllers of the money.
It's had little to do with the bulk of any generation.
Sweet, ragging on Boomers is a waste of time. You are the adult in the room, take the reins.
So strongly disagree. The two generations preceding the Boomers were the last that produced (publicly recognized) intellectual & creative giants.
The Boomers were a bust, apart from pop music.
Gen X has produced intellectual giants, but in the shadows (eg Satoshi and the cypherpunks).
Too early to tell with the Milkennials, but signs are not promising.
To my current, limited understanding, the one or two pre-boomer gens really produced the last substantial cultural frameworks that then got marred by the errors of the world wars. The boomers, perhaps traumatized, all too willingly shrouded themselves in esotericism and passed that on.
Yes, Europe blew its brains out with the two world wars (the second being a direct extension of the first).
To be honest, my initial comment was too much of a reactionary rant to Jimmy's (moronic, in my view) assertion. I don't think there's too much value in comparing generations (the trap I fell into). Rather, the domains in which generations can 'shine' have shifted. I was too hard on the Boomers; certain members have shone in the field of technology, as has Gen X.
Need to think more about this before going off half cocked again.
they also fought against those who started those wars, they were heroes, they sacrificed everything for future generations. Boomers were the "me" generation.
I respectfully and strongly disagree with this note.
Most people are not capable of putting themselves in other people's shoes and view at a situation from another angle.
🫵🤝 yes 😉
I think it is more of a lack of courage thing than a generational thing.
That is the lack of courage to protect all aspects of freedom.
Look at all the people who took the knee to the COVID mandates and how few stood strong against it. This is the problem that plagues all generations.
Blame the Boomers for the mess, but let’s not forget the real culprits: war and central banks. History repeats, and we’re stuck cleaning up the mess. 🥴💸
I think every generation thinks that the other ones are worse… maybe we should all stop complaining about the things that are not in our control and start changing the things that are in our control.
Blaming the generations for what occurred during their youth would be like blaming millennials for The GWoT.

It seems the real assholes were born before we started dividing people into age cohorts. Let's also keep in mind "Youth Culture" is created by older generations for younger generations consumption.
