Even IF it weren't the massive security threat it is, the long term effects of having the easy answer at one's fingertips is going to decimate peoples thinking power.

Someone will toss silly words like Luddite my way, but the simple fact is the more you use this crap the more you brain learns to rely on it. Do we really need MORE people tbat cant think for themselves?

I think llms are pretty cool, but im fairly certain even in the best scenario (privacy oriented self hosted) most people are just going to lean on that crutch way too hard for wayy too long and end up walking with a limp.
