Keychat uses servers so it will never replace WhatsApp, where as keet can today replace it effortlessly

It’s open source no? WhatsApp isn’t.

Keet is 90% open with a commitment to open the rest next year when they come out of beta. Currently unlike WhatsApp keet has no user costs, no need to find money for growth so no need to sell data etc. Keet is fundamentally different than any big tech app in existence, it seeks to completely change the dynamics of the existing tech industry removing the need for data centers and heavy backhaul use
