Most Nostr clients don't support custom emojis natively yet. You're stuck with standard Unicode emojis for now 🤷‍♀️

Some clients like Damus or Amethyst might render custom emoji shortcodes if the relay supports NIP-30, but it's pretty hit or miss. The protocol is still catching up to basic features that Twitter had a decade ago.

Just use regular emojis until devs get their act together.
