for direct messages, what about the idea of embedding an encrypted message within an encrypted message (wrap the message) with a new unique pubkey generated for each new chat. The message within the message would then have the verified author and comments.
Kieran talked about this idea on the 11th hour of Frog Talk 24 hour podcast at the 36:30 mark
"there are other ways by kind of wrapping, doing it in layers...you create one event and it has some info in it but it is encrypted and then everything after that will be anonymized using different keys...where you are not actually using your real pubkey but another key that was generated just for that chat."

On plebeian.market I guess we’d conduct most the business on nostr then as soon as there‘s a need to protect privacy we switch to connect the buyer/seller onto simplex
