It's bad enough that Zoomers don't even have the memory of having to make things work. When I bought Quake 3 Arena at the store it took hours before I had the drivers, patches, and DirectX installed just to play the game. To say nothing of battling Linux in 2000.

Seeing how my kid interacts with technology is frankly worrying. They're digitally native all right, that seems to mean for many they know as much about tech as fish know about water.

It’s pretty crazy to think about. I’ve seen toddlers that can’t even walk grab a phone and scroll TikTok then swipe away notifications and decline phone calls to continue scrolling. They know where the app is and how to open it. Wild times.
