Yeah more or less. The thesis is that our instincts have kept up alive and dominant for hundreds of thousands years and they are much more trustworthy in an instant than any amount of lamenting over time.

There is also empirical evidence that a persons “gut instinct” is right considerably more than it isn’t. It’s an excellent heuristic.
