The British fire service is very male and very white, according to a report.

The report, commissioned by the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC), concluded that the fire service was “institutionally racist, misogynistic, and homophobic.”

It stated that firefighters in Britain were not “diverse” enough because the proportion of women and ethnic minorities in the service is lower than in society as a whole.
