I just got some deja Vu.
Tell me if this seems familiar...
Or if I've missed some major point.
Back in my day, before the Internet. There were BBSes. You would contact a BBS through your computer via the phone and post messages.
Later, your friend might call in to that same BBS and get those messages.
You could call as many BBS as you wanted and leave or read messages.
Nostr seems a lot like that.
Relays feel like the modern BBS. If that's remotely accurate they might just follow similar trends.
That is to say a BBS, at least some of them, stopped being just primarily about tech (of course it was always there), and became thematically specialized over time
IE table top games, local events, bikers (probably not real bikers... But I digress)
If you think about it, that would allow you to sufficiently select just the relays that meet you're needs.
Just my two cents.
Probably just me seeing more forest, and less trees.
Look in still catching up. 😜
