I question commonly accepted truths and facts not because I want to disprove them, but because I’m curious why they are so easily accepted in the first place. Did the people who accept them actually think through to layer 1 to see if those before them got it right?

Asking questions is not the same as endorsing that argument - I’m simply asking the uncomfortable things to see if perhaps emotion has the best of us on that topic.

Very good idea my friend, I respect that.

I feel and do the same.

This is the way

For me it depends on how these truths are achieved and whether they concern me.

Questioning things is the base of science.

If anything you're doing science sir.

I have the same attitude. But, this curiosity can easily lead me astray as well if I don’t focus it on those things I can actually proactively do something about.

Zone of influence vs. Zone of concern.

i think sometimes its based on what you know makes it acceptable. sometimes its based on what information is all around you that makes it acceptable. and sometimes its your peers or the group you commonly listen or speak to that makes it acceptable. sometimes its your experience and ability or limitation there of that makes it seem right. Its very rare to find people who want to know why and dive deep with an open mind compared to people who always want to seem right.

I think what you describe is the strong influence of recency bias on individuals and the survival instinct to not stand out in a herd lest they be single out by the lion.

maybe, maybe its all they've known their entire life. Maybe they never had to fight to survive, to live, to be free. Maybe they never had to figure shit out on their own. Maybe they were spoon fed all their life. Maybe there are all kinds of people from all parts of the world with diff exposure and experiences. Maybe there's limited knowledge, maybe they are willing to know more. But boxing people into a definition is definitely not what I'm describing, nor would I be for it.
