Depends… is the piece that is owned a piece one grounds their very identity within? Or, is it a piece which feels needed, but really matters little.

I look at books, pics, art, and even my poetry and your question ripples nicely, And yet, of the many things which grounds me to my past, there is maybe a satchel bag’s worth that I would say should stay with… because it is an anchor to whatever might be my future.

Great question 🙇🏽‍♂️

I’m not entirely sure. I guess that’s what I’m wrestling with. I’m nervous that the latter is the truth. It very much feels needed but matters little and idk how valuable that actually is

I lost 27GB of content once. Locked me bad. Had moved everything to self/local storage and made the silly mistake of not putting the encryption key on another device.

That stung.

At that moment it also clicked that some things will remain, and many things won’t. The things which need to stick around did. The things which didn’t - well, I’d simply say there’s providence in forgetfulness.

You’ll only know if it was needed when you know. Until then, don’t carry crosses any more forward than you need to. Most folks need to drop their crosses to resurrect… I’d not be surprised if that’s an analogy also to the other bits, bytes, and things we carry.
