as a nearly 50 year old programmer, i am glad to say that i have only got better with the help of llm coding agents.
i don't need such good vision or vast short term memory, though mine is stupidly abnormally large to begin with.
i've learned a lot of architectural principles over the years and now with AI i can just step back from the gritty details and do a lot less keyboarding and get much faster, better results. it's more fluid, and takes some vigilance but you don't have to wear your fingers out. i already jumped ahead of this by getting an ortholinear, low-pressure spring short actuation keyboard. most of the time i'm using about 1/5th or less pressure to type than i did, and mostly i'm typing prompts now instead of tedious scroll scroll scroll select delete type scroll scroll scroll.
