But to check your balance or broadcast transaction you need your own node.

Yeah, what I do is I keep most in cold storage and some in a hot wallet like strike when I need it.

not only that if you deposit from your hot walle, the blockchain heuristics are linked! atleast have your own node for your hot wallet to connect to.
