Staff were disheveled, slouched in chairs, ear buds in, glued to their phones. Only 4-5 years ago, the staff were distinguished, well dressed, all but standing at attention.

Later, after dinner, we did some shopping. Retail customer service continues to slide into oblivion here in America.

Popped into an Apple Store. I was curious about the new MacBook Pro topping out at 48GB RAM. I couldn’t recall the reason (I’d forgotten the “unified memory” design), so it asked the guy who approached me. I reformulated the question three times. Each time his response was “That’s the max memory.” We walked out. Remember when they had a “Genius Bar?”

Call me a boomer, but every aspect of American society is in decline. Tragic.
