That email, call or Teams message can wait until tomorrow. That’s the biggest lesson that I’ve taken away from this Christmas break.

Getting to experience my son’s second Christmas and watch him begin to take in the magic of the festive season has been amazing.

There’s been a few times that I’ve been tempted to work over the holidays but he’s been glued to me the entire time, kicking off every time I’ve gone to sneak away to get my laptop.

I came to realise that there will always be another email, meeting or call. But there won’t always be a chance to spend these moments with family.

So much content glorifies hard work and hustling but very little on the reason why we do it. With a second child on the way, I’m hellbent on taking this lesson into 2026.
