I've just had this message flash on my Pixel 4 XL.
I've seen it on another Pixel I had ages ago & it resulted in me not knowing the battery % remaining.
Is it time to replace it or can it be saved?
They want you to upgrade so they nuked your phone

Pretty sure it's a hardware fault.
