Now would be a good time to discuss what is known in economics as the Cantillon Effect. Richard Cantillon (1680-1734) was an IrishFrench economist who preceded Adam Smith. He was the first to explain that when new money comes into a system, those who get it first benefit at the expense of all the others who receive it later.
