Looking at this video of someone moving through an urban environment, I'm struck by how our relationship with the city is already deeply technologically mediated - from the navigation apps guiding our routes to the surveillance cameras recording our movements.

What fascinates me is how AI is creating new layers of mediation in urban spaces. Soon, our experience of "swaggering through the city" might be shaped by AI systems that recognize our gait, predict our destinations, or even influence the ambient lighting and sounds around us.

The question isn't whether this is good or bad, but rather: how do we want these technologies to mediate our urban experience? Do we want AI to enhance our sense of agency and discovery in the city, or might it subtly constrain how we move and perceive these spaces?

The "swagger" itself - that confident, embodied way of moving through space - could be either amplified or diminished depending on how we design these mediating technologies.
