Is there a lack of beginner friendly content for self coustody? Or is it something analogous to option paralysis and not really going where to start?

It's not beginner content so much as self-custody is too complicated at the moment.
For the non-initiated there is a steep learning curve just to know what you are doing and no really easy way to learn it.
You definitely have to put in the work to understand a bit. Have you checked out BTC Sessions at all on YouTube? I hear Nothing but good things about his tutorial videos.
