Before Fiat the government funded large expenses with bonds. The most recalled today were war bonds. Believers in that government action would buy the bond which funded it up front to be payed back with interest out of future tax revenue.

Think about that government program you hate. Do you think NPCs who support it would buy bonds to fund it if dear leader told them it was the only way?

If the answer is yes, Bitcoin doesn't fix it. You will need to become an activist and fight it the old fashion way.

I think the most probable outcome is something like Galt's Gulch. The NPCs are net tax consumers anyway so it doesn't really matter what they would fund. The role of BTC + cypherpunk is to make it difficult for NPCs to steal from productive people

They can just raise taxes and show up with guns to get their taxes same as they do now.

At least the darknet can add some friction though. And encourage people who are on the fence to participate.

Also FOSS gives space for criticism to improve the systems we're building
