Honestly, that sounds like bad news to me.

Mainly because of HOW X regained access in Brazil. Using a system of constantly changing IP addresses to regain the briefly lost portion of their global spy and misinformation network seems unethical.

I have no idea how this situation will escalate from now on

I expect that many Brazilian citizens will celebrate this a "win" but... this still just gives X and Elon the right to censor whatever they wantšŸ™„. Also, given the fact that Starlink operated and relied heavily on Brazil for data harvesting is definitely another huge factor for Xs most recent update.

In short, I do agree with you but, one thing is certain: the tension between Elon and Moraes will escalate.

Are their many Brazilian citizens using nostr?

No. Brazilian prefer mainstream social media and think that Nostr is for ultra conservative right wing people. The ones who learned about it have a really bad opinion on Nostr because they believe that freedom of speech is hate speech. So I don’t think many Brazilians will become Nostriches… but I might be wrong.

I am not thinking of Elon Musk that much, what scares me the most is that governments world wide think they’ve got the right to simply censor social media according to their interests. In my opinion no government should interfere in the means of communication. I don’t like Elon and I don’t think he’s a freedom representative. What I’m afraid is of this censorship trend that is happening almost everywhere 😩

My opinion about Brazilians being open to Nostr is based on the people I know. I haven’t conducted any research here. It’s quite shallow, forgive me for that.

It'll be alright. Just give them time. They'll come around and see things clearly eventually.

That's very disappointing to hear. There should never be a reason to intentionally obscure the ideals of freedom of speech and replace them with hate speech. That's just pure evilšŸ˜’. And corporations control governments; they're equally evil institutions. They essentially advise governments on what to censor to form a state of least resistance from the masses. But, their plan for doing so is clearly backfiring for many reasons: sky-high tax rates, "advertisements" that are clearly propaganda (which also fuel hateful narratives), unbearable living costs, useless Healthcare and educational systems, totalitarian legal systems etc. You name itšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø!

Yep! šŸ‘šŸ¼ You’re right. Let’s hope for the best.

Why?

oh no, bad news for brasilsky
