With every new post, I honestly just feel more and more like I'm wasting my time here.

I get *maybe* 3 interactions with every post...what's the point? 🤦‍♂️

I can just post on a platform that I actually get engagement on.

Sure, freedom to speak your mind is cool, but who the fuck cares if nobody is listening? Like, really.

What platforms do you prefer?

I have 950 followers on Fediverse. It has its problems, but at least there's people.🤷‍♂️

Nostr is growing good though

Sure, just slow af and retention rate is the worst of any platform that I've been on.😬

Maybe it'll be good in 5 years, and I can come back then. However, I don't see myself continuously wasting my time here for no gain. There's just no point.

The protocol is the point

But no hard feelings either way, everyone can have a different perspective

The protocol is the point? Many protocols existed and went nowhere because the experience sucks

Can't wait around for the people to find the protocol useful. There's a 1% retention rate. 1.5m users. Less than 15,000 active. It's dead. You can "protocol" all you want, but unless there's people here to use the protocol, then its useless.

you get it

If you're happy to maintain a single user instance server and the additional costs and time that this incurs (as you are) then nostr doesn't really hold much additional benefit. You're blocked from less instances than either of the fedi bridges and you have a lot of mature mobile apps to use to improve your mastodon experience.

However, you can't deny that it *is* easier to create an npub and begin talking to the world and if you are connecting to someone elses instance and having to abide by their rules and blocklists and possibly getting blocked from talking to people due to others actions that isn't optimal.

That is how it is on decentralized media =)

Sucks

Well, I think you'll know what I'd say to this...🤷‍♂️Fedi has problems, but there's people there.

it's joever

Try saying something important then…

The interactions I can agree with. But its worth sticking around. Its still early and with more people who share similar interests more interaction is bound to follow.

Here's your problem, if you don't follow many people, why should they follow you back?

Following 167 people isn't a lot? Lol. Here's my Fediverse stats. 🤷‍♂️I'd say that if those people don't follow me back, that's not really my fault. As you can see, other platforms don't have this issue.

Not really, especially when they are mostly large accounts. Find people who react to notes you are interested in and follow them. Follow 500 plebs and you will have more engagement.

Are you a person that gets to a bar and starts talking and the crowd just starts standing around you and complements you on your words?
