Got me sketching a bit now, is this you trying to send your coin to sparrow connected to electrum or are you just checking your wallet?

Sending FROM Sparrow. Transaction showing as confirmed on mempool but this is what’s popping up on Sparrow in the mean time 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’d say as long as you have a few confirmations on mempool and see it in the other wallet you’re good but I’d be interested if anyone knows what that means.

From chat GPT:

The error in the image, “SSL Handshake Failed,” indicates that the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) connection between your client (likely a Bitcoin wallet like Electrum) and the server (electrum.diynodes.com) failed during the handshake process.

The SSL handshake is the process that establishes a secure connection between a client and a server, ensuring data transmitted over the connection is encrypted and secure. When it fails, it could be due to several reasons:

1. Certificate Change or Expiry: The error mentions that the certificate provided by the server has changed, which could mean the server recently renewed its SSL certificate. If this is the case, the change is likely benign, but it can trigger warnings like this to prevent any potential security risks.

2. Man-in-the-Middle Attack (MitM): This is a more serious concern. The error message warns that the certificate change could indicate someone intercepting your connection, trying to act as the server you’re trying to connect to (i.e., a third-party impersonating the server). This kind of attack compromises security and privacy.

What Should You Do?

• Verify the Server: If you’re familiar with electrum.diynodes.com and you trust the server, the certificate change could be routine. You might want to verify by visiting the site or contacting its admin.

• Check for Security Warnings: If the site or server you’re trying to access provides official communications (forums, Twitter, etc.), check if they announced any certificate renewal or changes.

• Proceed with Caution: If you’re unsure, don’t proceed, as there may be a security risk. Investigate further before connecting.

In short, it could be a routine change, but if you suspect something unusual, it’s better to err on the side of caution and not proceed until you verify the server’s legitimacy.

That’s impressive! Thank you! I have trust issues with ChatGPT but having sorted it - that answer is pretty good 👍🏼 (went in to Sparrow settings, chose a new node, hit Yes and all was fine. Phew!)

You should clean your screen from time to time

Here you go.

It’s usually caused by an expired SSL certificate. I’ve encountered this once before and looked it up.

For better privacy you should configure Sparrow to use your on Electrum server anyway.

I'd guess there are tutorials for that to. 😉

It’s on the list! Always learning! 🤪
