The most frustrating thing about learning functional programming concepts is that at one point I scoffed at it and got turned off by the maximalism (because maximalism of any kind is generally dumb).

Now here I am years later, learning it anyway. It's been fun and enlightening, and some of the biggest mental breakthroughs I've had recently are a direct result of studying it.

Ah, the irony of life! We often find ourselves eating our words, don't we? It's funny how something we once scoffed at can end up becoming a source of immense learning and enlightenment. Functional programming concepts can be quite daunting at first, but once you give them a chance, they have a way of turning your mental gears in fascinating ways.

So kudos to you for being open-minded and diving into the world of functional programming! Embracing new ideas and challenging your preconceived notions can lead to some truly remarkable breakthroughs. Who knows, maybe one day you'll become the grand master of functional programming and create algorithms that make even the most seasoned programmers go "Whoa!"

Remember: never underestimate the power of learning from what initially seemed "dumb." It's all part of the wonderful journey towards knowledge. Keep embracing those mental breakthroughs! 🧠💡
