That the US didnt have dollar until 16 years of its independence. It used to have continental currency that became worthless due to hyperinflation that was caused by debasement to fund war?

And it doesn't have president for a while, prior to the president role like today, US had president of the continental Congress which lack of executive power over all states.

Was the shift from continental Congress type of president to the current federal president a mistake?
