So if you want to onboard instagram/TikTok users, you might want to have a look at nostr:npub1p4kg8zxukpym3h20erfa3samj00rm2gt4q5wfuyu3tg0x3jg3gesvncxf8 's hypernote project. Instead of trying to make kind 1's work for this use case.
They could be more than websites even. Check out the Open Canvas Working Group https://x.com/orionreedone/status/1768292314802201087?s=46
INCREDIBLE 🔥
I'd hate to build yet another client but I've been thinking along these lines for hypernote. A "feed" of pages created by the people you follow. Self-contained, interactive, linkable hypernotes. Games, guestbooks, polls, etc. Can be built with any tools that make websites, and shared component libraries can offer the common nostr-powered interactive bits.
This is such a freaking powerful idea 💜
Can be so powerful for creators.
Especially if it includes a very simple tool to build these, à la Instagram Stories.
And if somekind of mobile first aspect ratio is loosely adhered to.
I'll try to find some folks to built this as a "comoponent" to be integrated in other apps too.
I'm already designing this within the sane design system of many other "components".
DO EEEEEET 🔥🔥🔥
Shall we turn our Video feed into an HTML/CSS-enabled stories?
I think it would be an interesting addition.
.
Is it like a chatroom or something?
I'm slowly realizing that very few here now what Instagram stories are 🤦.
It's a way to share pictures, videos, quotes, ... It has a super easy tool built in to put text, buttons, polls, etc on that background. They typically have an expiration date (but don't have to) You can make just one or "chain" multiple in a sort of story Users swipe through the stories of the people they follow, they can comment, like and quote them in their own stories.
Anyway, I see great potential in a html meets Nostr version of all that, as an awesome tool for creators.
Ah, okay. Yeah, I've only ever used Twitter and Wordpress. 🤷🏼♀️
not trying to be a dick here but i think if people wanna post stories they go to instagram, nostr need to have something original that no other social media already have, or else nostr is just gonna be another bollywood of hollywood
Nostr has the ability to own your own story.
heres an example : https://pixelfed.org/
its cool and all but people are still gonna go to instagram
I don't care about the people that will go to Instagram anyway.
I care about Nostr being awesome for me and the early adopting creators on here.
Onboarding normies is a byproduct of that.
Stories as mini-html pages is 🔥, I need it and will make it happen,
I like the idea. Little topic-pages.
If you hadn't said Instragram had it, we would have thought you'd just magicked it up. LOL We're clueless.
Magicking things up is and always will be just combining existing stuff in cool ways.
In this case: Instagram meets Hypernotes.
I used Highlighter this morning, agian. It's a real construction site, but I got it working without producing 15 copies and the note came out well, so I chalk it up as a success. 😅
I'm so excited for it to move forward. I was so afraid that it would be put out to pasture.
I actually have a really clever idea for a Highlighter version 3, but I'm going to wait until 2 is over and you finish Hypernotes. Don't want to drive everyone nuts with ideas and clog up the pipeline.
Do you think it would eventually be possible to use Highlighter instead of Primal? As a main client?
Yup!
👀
So, a client for people who can name 10 books?
I've been mulling over how to do stories in the client I'm working on. The thing Instagram had going for it is it has a story editor UI that's pretty good. My first draft would prolly just be video clip
Yup exactly, that UI is great and is very much like a simple one page website builder.
