Count me in the camp that hates new cars.
1960s isnāt my vibe but like 1990s/2000s cars before they went all-software. nostr:note1kpk5aksxt6mmalk0jnzmsu0zynh3sqj80yv5z2een6jx64rcdyaswd59jj

2012 is the newest Iāll buy. Before they could be disabled with a software update.
+1
I need three pedals to drive.
I drive a 2003 Dodge Dakota, idc how wealtly I'll get, I'll will always drive a humble beat up truck
Back when cars didn't spy on you
bmw m3 e30 or porsche 993 turbo these are my dream cars
I have a 2019 BMW x1 that surprisingly isnāt too electric/technical. Had to get a loaner 2024 x1 today (spurring on this note) and itās so electric on the inside itās disgusting.
My first car was a 1990 manual ford bronco and that thing was SWEET.
i dunno, have you seen the latest Toyota Sienna? itās pretty neat!
Less is more. Out of country and a screen crapped out just as it was needed :)
100% x10.
I've also worked on the interior of a '59 ford t-bird. And, well... there were some much less than enjoyable things about that as well. In general, a mid to high-end bicycle is much more elegantly designed.
2005 is about my cut-off... they lost me when they went from hydraulic assisted steering to electric. Also electric throttle (Rev hang) no thanks
Radar cruise control almost makes everything else worth it tho
Itās the design, too. Regulations force them to be ugly.

Japanese cars from the 90s are the peak of mechanical engineering imo
only thing i hate about new cars is fake exhaust sound from the speakers and fake gear shifts from CVT ...
new = good
fake = bad
My 2011 Toyota is currently in limp mode which is a safety feature because I haven't figured out how to clear an error code.
It drives but it is currently restricting it's power for my safety.
I suspect it's gummed up with carbon deposits from recycling exhaust gases for the sake of the environment. I'm waiting for a plate to hamper the EGR before cleaning it out & clearing the error code.
The difference between the 2007 & 2011 model seems to be mainly the computer. I'm not sure I'd want a later model than the 2011.
Mid 90's Subaru Outback was probably my happiest time behind the wheel.
BMW E30 Series
No 80ās love?
