The only free public relay i can vouch for the safety of spam is probably nostr.mom . Been using it for a while, almost no spam 😅

Its ok, i often go there, lurking on global feed. Paid relays + filter.nostr.wine + nostr.mom combo works and safe for me 😄
We can greet newcomer and help many nostriches out there if we join at least one free public relay
