While I am not affiliated with Friends of Bonobos, or any sanctuary's images I share, this statement is true. If you see me sharing an image of an ape or a monkey with a human, 99% of the time, it's in a proper setting. Unless it's something like feeding wild monkeys, that's a little different. It shouldn't be done as a rule of thumb but it depends on context and location. Some cultures feed wild monkeys and have for centuries.

Feeding wild apes though is a nono on any level. Same with having them as pets, or doing human things for entertainment.
