I know a lot of y'all already know about these, but maybe someone doesn't... You need Faraday bags. No, like, you actually really do need them.

You need several. One in your car, others in your home, maybe in your backpack if you're travelling... Put your phone and any RFID keyed thingy in there while not in use. Definitely garage door opener, but maybe even credit cards - I think I've heard people copying the strip from a distance.

If you're a bitcoiner with nifty bitcoin apps on your phone, you need it even more. One malicious update to any app on that phone and the phone becomes a tracker. $5 wrench attacks have already escalated, and they will escalate more in both frequency and sophistication.

Got a Faraday wallet in my pocket right now. The wife has a Faraday pouch for her phone.

Its amazing how well they work.

Nice!

in a pinch, you can make a faraday cage with alfoil. you need to be really thorough about sealing it, best to do three layers probably. small gaps larger than the 2-3 mm or so of the 2-5ghz band will allow some signal to get in and out.

and i mean, that can be a hole that's like 0.5mm wide but 3mm long, the waves will get through that.

Yep, but I'd forget if I didn't have the special bag ready to use

The diy job will likely better to. I bought some generic Chinese ones and they stretch even a little for example you assume you can put 2 phones in a bag which if you are rational you assume you can do because they fit quite comfortably. Then they start leaking signal from certain angles usually along the seam line.
