Bambu Lab A1 Mini, hands down the best entry level machine for kids to learn and wins big on the price front as well. The build volume is quite small, but it's a good starting point with few frustrating errors as long as you stick to PLA.

which sells at under 400 bucks

it prints very well PLA, PETG and TPU
