If the world were on a bitcoin standard war would produce capital destruction which would devalue everyone's bitcoin holdings as people / nations have to spend their bitcoin to attack and rebuild.

War has always resulted in creation of fiat currency. Even on a bitcoin standard, government would justify a need for fiat currency, even currency backed by bitcoin, and would simply circumvent the existing governing laws.

Your theory is correct, but are not factoring human nature.
