If you generated your seed phrase externally (like using dice), then it does have to calculate the last word, because that last word is a checksum (so a dice roll for the last word might generate invalid wallets).

Yes, I am updating a tutorial I made previously about rolling your own seed phrase with dice, so my issue was with the Jade’s UX/UI regarding that task.
It does allow you to do it, but it is very confusing
