President Biden has landed in Angola for a three-day visit, the first US presidential visit to sub-Saharan Africa in almost a decade.
His principal goal, according to CNN, is to "blunt China’s growing influence in the region". He will offer "alternative, high-quality" investments to African countries, in yet another attempt to counter the Belt and Road Initiative.
But the idea that the US can stop the blossoming and mutually beneficial relationship between China and Africa is unrealistic.
