This is my go to for a meditation/contemplative prayer timer. Much better than an app imo. In the Thomas Merton /Christian mystic tradition, fairly indistinguishable from the 'just sitting' zen instruction really. Such a peaceful video.

My I am building concentration towards the Jhanas. I have experienced it once, been to Access Concentration many times. Mostly Culadasa's The Mind Illuminated (maybe there are newer editions than the one linked) and Daniel Ingram's Mastering The Core Teachings of The Buddha.

Hey, I wonder how did all these meditations wordings end up sounding so similar. He is talking about no-thoughts, letting it come, all that.

I can't say I know enough about it tbh, but there are links between Christian contemplative prayer people like Thomas Merton and Thich Nhat Hanh for example. I'm sure it's more interconnected than this. But there is a contemporary / veering on mindfulness sort of wording to it which you wouldn't get say in the teachings of the Deserts Fathers. Hmm again I don't know enough
