🇺🇸 SAM ALTMAN: "STOP SWEET-TALKING THE ROBOTS, NERDS"

According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, all that polite language people use with ChatGPT — like “please” and “thank you” — is costing a fortune in electricity and computing power.

Why? Because ChatGPT has to process your Victorian-era manners like they’re nuclear launch codes.

In short: the bot doesn’t care.

It doesn’t need your gratitude, it doesn’t get offended, and it’s definitely not going to remember that time you said “thanks” for saving your last-minute English essay.

But, as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman quipped, “You never know”—future AI might just surprise us and become self-aware.

Translation: we're all still scared of a robot rebellion and trying to rack up good karma just in case.

And they say “good manners don’t cost a thing?”

You never know how much these things will remember once they become sentient? I’ll stick to my p’a and q’s thank you!

It’s quite fascinating—we have the rare privilege of witnessing the emergence of a new world religion. Take note, folks; this isn’t something you see every day. People are already beginning to kneel before their new god.

As they say, the results of LLM are much better if we talk politely to them

I interact with ChatGPT like I would any other human. No reason to change my behavior with AI. 🤷‍♂️

I disagree, I think it’s good habit to be polite with anyone or anything, can’t hurt

Good manners do not depend on the recipient. They are part of the emitter's education.

I was just taught good manners...

We become what we practice... Imagine telling us Nostrs to stop saying GM because it costs more electricity to relay those posts!

GM btw.

What would GM in Nostr be good for? I really do not understand this never.

Fuck Sam Altman the shitcoin scammer.
