I want there to be a bookstr app, kinda like goodreads, but without the gross big tech BS, utilizing the interoperable nature of nostr keys to be able to connect with others and do all the bookworm stuff that one can do.

I currently use openreads (find it on F-Droid) to track books I've read. I wonder if that could be used as a starting point?

While you wait for a possible nostr version there is a fediverse version called Bookwyrm

I've never used fediverse stuff so I'm not very inclined to start at this point. But thank you for pointing it out as that might be something else to look at for inspiration!
