Fair, pre-Covid I was gigging/touring more and had the switch but hadn't got to the point where I felt super comfortable. Since then I've been way more studio focussed so no practical upside to IEMs, for me at least. If I had a tour mixing monitors I'd defo invest in a new pair or at least stock up on cables for the ones I have. Makes way more sense creating mixes for musicians using IEMs myself when how they're hearing things.

Mixing front of house I find myself constantly taking them in an out as I want to hear the room sound, probably goes a long way to explaining why I have issues with the cables, it's more practical having a 'phone I can press to my ear when needed while keeping an ear on the room.

I improved bass response comes from the fit, much like if you press most over ears against your head a little.

Given you using decent ear pieces that actually fit in the ear drum, how do you find communication? Or are you constantly taking the earpiece in/out?
