A recent report by scientists warns that global warming is worsening deadly flooding in Africa. The World Weather Attribution network found that human-driven climate change has made seasonal downpours across the Niger and Lake Chad basins 5-20% worse, resulting in a humanitarian catastrophe. Floods have killed over 1,500 people and displaced more than one million in West and Central Africa this year.
