I was researching something, the other day, and I stumbled on bar soap for laundry and dishes. I immediately thought of you. Walmart even sells a "modern" version. I even recalled back to my great-grandmother washing in a yard cauldron, and she'd throw in a bar. Might be an interesting project for you.
