Fees for ecash... I thought the idea was to keep moving away from fees.
Couldn't find info on these so called fees...what's the deal?

No, this is not about feeding devs.
Anonymous services are vulnerable against denial of service attacks. That's why we have fees on Bitcoin, not to feed Satoshi.
